NLP Procedures
All the applications have certain commonalities. In one way or another, all use anchoring, submodality shifts, and the advanced language patterns to achieve results. They also imply intervention to change an attitude, belief, or behavior to help individuals achieve desired and worthwhile goals.
Discussion Questions
- What are the “Logical Levels,” and how are they related to procedural interventions?
- Describe what you noticed while watching the videos.
- Find family members, friends, and willing strangers who will allow you to practice NLP techniques. Help people get over phobias and other anxieties. Set and collapse (integrate) anchors to help people get past unpleasant thoughts and feelings. Help individuals eliminate bad habits and develop better ones.
Keep a record of what you try and the results you obtain. Remember that the only times you do a procedure the way it is written if it isn’t working is when you are learning it and when you are teaching it. While you are learning, do each procedure from beginning to end as it is written. Record your results. If they aren’t what you or your volunteer hoped for, use a different procedure next time.
Your record should be part of your NLP journal you will complete as part of the certification process.
