Artificial Intelligence

If you are old enough to have seen 2001: A Space Odyssey, you doubtless remember the computer, the HAL 9000. HAL malfunctions and does everything it can to kill off the crew. The last astronaut standing is appropriately named “Bowman,” perhaps foreshadowing my own difficulties with artificial intelligence. At least I wasn’t in space….

My challenges were more down-to-earth. My DVR had started making an annoying buzzing sound when I paused and restarted something I had recorded, and the “cable” button on the remote had become extremely difficult to use. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Coronation

Although all presidential elections in the US are “historic,” our most recent election will probably go down in history as the most historic of all. In My Family…

An old story whose origins are unknown to Google is about a relatively newlywed couple who wanted to divide chores evenly having weekly arguments about whose turn it was to mow the lawn. They had agreed to take turns but had trouble tracking whose turn it was from week to week. After months of arguing about whose turn it was to mow the lawn, the wife blurted out, “In my family, . . . → Read More: In My Family…

Interventions for Hearing Loss

A version of this post also appears in the October “Beyond Mastery” newsletter.

If you have been following Debra’s and my attendance at various conferences and meetings this year, you already know that we’ve been hanging out with some of the best healers in the country. This article describes the interventions I have received along the way, primarily for my principal presenting problem of hearing loss. My hearing had been declining for at least the last 10 years.

One of the things about hearing loss is that it is subtle. When your vision gets blurry, you can see . . . → Read More: Interventions for Hearing Loss
