She had recently moved to Antwerp, Belgium, to begin her student teaching in the American School.

Antwerp is the capital of Antwerp province in the Flemish Region. As in all Flemish provinces, the official and standard language of the Antwerp province is Dutch. Common with Flemish Brabant, North Brabant and Brussels, the local dialect is a Brabantian variety.

She had gone out, gotten lost, and could not find her way back home. She was surrounded by people who were all speaking different languages—mostly Flemmish or French.

A woman appeared, and told her how to find her way back home.

She had not seen the woman approach, and she did not see where the woman went.

She knew she had encountered an “angel” just at the moment she needed the help.

The universe is filled with angels….
