She drove to Portland to visit a friend and meet his two pet ferrets. She stopped on the way and purchased three hamburgers: one for the two of them to share, and one for each of the two ferrets.
Her friend was amazed when he accepted the bag and saw she had brought three hamburgers. “How did you know?” he asked. “Did someone tell you what I did two weeks ago?”
She said she did not know what he was referring to, she was just guided to arrive with the three hamburgers as a gift.
He told her he had recently been weak with hunger before a performance and had ordered three hamburgers for himself when he had been given the chance!
