The drug store she worked in carried the local newspaper. One evening, as she was getting ready to go home, she went to the front of the store and opened the paper.
Turning to the back page, she said to a co-worker, “I just wanted to check to see if my mother-in-law’s obituary was in here.”
It was not.
“Is your mother-in-law ill?” the co-worker asked.
“I have no idea. I haven’t had contact with her in years.”
Two days later, she found out her mother-in-law actually had died that day, but it wasn’t in the paper yet!
