Sure and Steady

Debra’s Wellness Tips

In the U.S. April 15 is the deadline for filing your income taxes. While paying taxes is something we can mitigate but probably not eliminate, living a taxing life is something we can avoid.

Taxing synonyms: physically or mentally demanding, exacting, challenging, burdensome, arduous, onerous, difficult, hard, tough, laborious, back-breaking, strenuous, rigorous, punishing, tiring, exhausting, enervating, wearing, stressful.

Neale Donald Walsch gives this great advice: Move resolutely, but don’t rush. There’s a difference. Rushing removes resolution, often replacing it with panic or irrationality or, at best, not well thought-out choices. So keep moving. Don’t stop. But don’t rush. Don’t race around. Sure and steady gets you there every time.

This week, begin or strengthen the practice of sure and steady. You may remember the story about the tortoise and the hare!
